Fletcher Drive Entrance

Decided to explore the LA river.  First we headed north from Fletcher Drive. Once we crossed the Los Feliz Street Bridge, there were no longer hedges between the path and the freeway.  Ruined my buzz.  So we headed South.  Open spaces, back over the bridge, plenty of room for everyone.   Slight grade but basically flat.

On our return we passed the equestrian crossing.  Two riders went down into the riverbed with their Corgy.  That was fantastic.

We headed South passing along the river, close to the bridges and an Amtrak sighting.  Awesome! Public transportation being utilized.

The back streets of Frogtown felt pretty safe. We got all the way down to the Elysian Valley but then – Oh Bummer – Bill got a flat!

Another cyclist – Darius – lent us his pump.  Good people on the road.  A true great LA moment!

Saved us time so Bill managed to ride most of the way back and we only had to walk for about 15 minutes.

Learned two things – we don’t like North of the Los Felz Bridge and – always carry a pump and patches!  We’re new at this.
