Today we started on a short sweet bike path in Duarte. The trail starts at the corner of Buena Vista and Royal Oaks, just north of the Santa Teresita Retirement Home and even has a sign to watch out for sisters crossing.
The view of the canyon north toward the San Gabriels was staggeringly gorgeous. Wild sage with beautiful yellow blosoms dotted the wash. We decided to turn left toward the mountains once we crossed the bridge.
The path extends north along the wash toward the mountain for 10k. At the end there is a short continuing path into San Gabriel Canyon for about another mile and a half.
From the start of our ride at the Sisters Crossing sign,(which we loved) up to the end of the wash and back was about 18 miles of beautiful scenery and freedom to fly without the danger and distraction of traffic.
